My Passion for shooting BMG class rifles since 1995 when I was able to purchase my first 50 BMG rifle which was an LAR Grizzly bull pup single shot. When I started my business I wanted to build these supersized rifles to my product line. Over time I developed, tested and started building not only the standard 50 BMG but also several wildcats based on that parent case. The Heavy BMG rifles are very large rifles in the 25 to 80 lbs weight range with barrels from 28" to a full 45" length. These have been tested in some calibers to be able to sustain supersonic velocity out to 4000 yards and beyond. The Heavy BMG rifles are not for everyone but there is no doubt, if you want something that creates an EVENT when they go off, these are just the rifle models for you!!!
The Heavy BMG rifles come in two models, Full custom and Semi-Custom. The full custom models have several receiver options but generally will be the BAT EX or EXS, McBros or Cadex 50 BMG receivers. The Semi-Custom model will use the Armalite AR-50A1 donor rifle with a fully blueprinted receiver. All have the stiffness and rigidty needed to produce extreme precision at long to extreme range. Available in right and left hand and some are available in repeater models as well depending on model and chambering choice.
All of the Heavy BMG rifles use Bartlein stainless steel barrels. Most often we will use 1.750" diameter shanked barrels for these rifles. Actual barrel contour will depend on the customers desired finished weight for their rifle project. Barrel lengths will be from 30" to 45" in length again depending on customers goal for the project rifle.
There are several stocks that we use for the Heavy BMG rifles. The Full Custom rifles will generally use the McMillan BEAST 2, LBR or HBR stocks. The semi-custom model retains the use of the factory Armalite AR-50A! stock which is an extremely strong, stable and functional stock for these rifles.
While I rarely shoot groups on paper these rifles are more then capable of shooting very small groups. All while being extremely powerful rifles that are relatively comfortable to shoot. I say relatively because these rifles do require some important training before new shooters should try them just to learn how to safely handle their unique recoil levels. Felt recoil is not severe but they do produce a great deal of rearward movement into the shooter, much more then other conventional rifles. Once this is learned they are very easy to shoot, even with some of these producing up to 16,000 ft/lbs of muzzle energy! Touching one of these off can only be discribed as an EVENT!!!
