For many years after the release of the APS Raptor receiver, it was used for all rifles manufactered by APS. This included the Raptor LRSS as well as the Raptor Hunter and Raptor Hybrid rifle models which were all attempts to make a more portable precision rifle compared to the Raptor LRSS. These were great rifles but because of the size of the Raptor Match receiver, it was impossible to make a true sporter weight rifle.
The APS Stalker receiver was designed specifically to be the heart of a line of rifles that would offer precision and strength to handle most of the APS wildcats as well as most conventional chamberings. This was the birth of the Stalker Hunter rifle model which replaced the Raptor Hunter model. The Stalker receivers can be had in long or short action, right or left hand and in single shot or a variaty of repeating options. They also can be had using any bolt face from 223/5.56 class up to Lapua class diameter bolt faces.
The Stalker receivers took several features from the much larger Raptor receivers. They are designed to be extremely strong and stiff compared to other custom receivers in their size class. Making them some of the strongest yet lightest ALL stainless-steel receivers available today.
The new Stalker Hunter rifles were the new ultimate in precision power that could be carried all day long by most healthy hunters in all but the most sever terrain. Bare rifle weight will generally fall into the 7.5 to 8.5 lb range. Making the Stalker Hunter just as at home in the timber as it is reaching across canyons for half mile reach when needed with ease.
If you're looking for the ultimate in portable power and precision, the Stalker Hunter is impossible to beat. The Stalker Hunter rifle can be made into the perfect varmint rifle, predator rifle, light to medium Big Game rifle or even Heavy or Dangerous game rifles. The flexibility of this platform is nearly endless. The APS Stalker Hunter quickly gained a well-earned reputation as the true workhorse of the APS rifle line up.
