PROWLER RIFLE MODEL

The Prowler receiver was a combined effort between Me and Defiance Machine who has been a longtime partner with APS since the first Days Glen Harrison started Defiance Machine.   I contacted Defiance and asked if there was a way they could produce a receiver to the specs I wanted using one of their existing models as a base plan with a few options unique to my Prowler design that they did not offer on their receiver.  They agreed and the combination produced a world class, full featured receiver at a price point significantly lower then my Stalker receiver or Raptor.  Now, I am not saying that the Prowler is the full equal to these two top end receivers but its as good as any receiver on the market today and at an amazing price point.  Shout out to all the crew at Defiance for helping me bring this project to reality.  The Prowler receiver has an integral recoil lug, one piece bolt handle design, extra wide/deep bolt fluting and a pinned 20 moa steel or aluminum rail base.  Available in righ tor left hand, long or short action lengths and interal mag or detachable magazine repeating options.  for the money an amazing little receiver that drops into Rem 700 footprinted stocks.

With the goal of the Prowler rifle to keep cost down as much as possible, some may think that I went with a lower quality barrel.   However, in my professional opinion, the barrel is the last place to compromise quality if your looking to build a precision rifle at any price point.  As such, all Prowler rifles still wear Bartlein stainless steel barrels. However, they are non fluted which saves cost in the finished rifle while not effecting performance at all.  Generally one smaller contour barrel will be used on the Prowler then would be used with a fluted Stalker rifle.  Fluted barrels are still an add on option if wanted on a Prowler Rifle.

Perhaps the single area in these rifles that allow a significant drop in price point is with the selection of the stocks to be used.  No QUALITY composite stock would offer a price point low enough to reach my price goals for the Prowler rifle line.  As such, I looked to a long time maker of quality laminate wood stocks, Boyd Stocks.  Boyds offers several models of stocks that work very well with the Prowler rifle line and also offer a wide variaty of options as well such as custom LOP and unique color combos.  Price for these stocks are often less then 1/3 the cost of the stocks used on my Stalker and Raptor  rifles.   After a very qualty fitting and pillar bedding job using the finest heat treated aluminum pillars and bedding components, these stocks offer world class stability and strength and at a price point that allows me to reach my goals for the Prowler rifle line as well as meet my same high level accuracy potential standards for all my rifles.

Trigger Tech Primary or Special triggers are standard options on the Prowler rifle line.  Very high quality at a good price point as well.  Magazine systems are either standard custom BDL style hinged floorplates with internal magazines or HS Precision DM systems.
